SHEIKH/Impact provides expert counsel to nonprofit organizations in the fields of health care, justice reform, human services, education, arts, youth and family services — and more.

Your role:
You will spend your days supporting an incredible team who tenaciously work to raise the capacity of nonprofit organizations trying to solve the toughest issues facing our communities through organizational development, fundraising and communications.

Job responsibilities:
Partner with clients/staff to create a competitive pitch/case for support.
Conduct research on public and private institutional funders, as well as individual donors.
Track and manage funder pipelines and systems for clients.
Draft and fine-tune grant proposals, LOIs, reports and other written materials.
Interview community stakeholders to inform strategic plans.
Craft compelling testimonials and stories for client publications.

Qualifications:
Three or more years of experience in funder research, grant writing and project management.
Proven track record of securing institutional funding. Public grant writing experience is highly desired.
Motivated self-starter, with proven ability to develop creative solutions.
A self-starter with the ability to work under only general supervision; ability to multitask and manage time.
Superior written communication and organizational skills; strong interpersonal skills.
Experience working with individuals with diverse working styles and ethnic backgrounds.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Must be extremely computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Compensation

Associate salaries typically range from $65-85k, depending on experience.

The position offers health insurance/dental/vision benefits, 401(k) retirement/profit sharing plan and paid time off in addition to regular federal/state holidays.

Our offices are located near the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro and in Downtown Los Angeles. We offer a hybrid work schedule from either of our two locations (two-three days in office and other days working from home).
