Richstone Family Center (RFC) is dedicated to preventing and treating child abuse and trauma; strengthening and educating families; and decreasing violence in families, schools and communities. In existence since 1974, RFC has established itself to provide comprehensive services that include: trauma focused treatment and therapy, crisis intervention, group support facilitation, parenting and anger management classes, home visits, psycho-educational and skill building workshops, and youth academic support programs.

The Development & Outreach Assistant handles a variety of tasks related to institutional and individual giving, and provides administrative support to the President/CEO and Development Director in order to help bring in funding and resources from donors to sustain Richstone’s growth. Charged with public relations and outreach, the ideal candidate is experienced with managing relationships with current and prospective donors and researching ways to bring in additional funds. Also, tracks philanthropic requests, pledges and contributions as well as conduct research, analyze data and compile reports on current or prospective donors.

Responsibilities to include:

Donor Relations & Data Base Management

Assist in the creation and maintenance of accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date database of donors. Perform database maintenance and clean-up projects to improve data integrity and database performance;
Run reports to provide donor lists for mailings and other gift queries;
Coordinate and help facilitate all mailings (newsletter, solicitations, etc.), using database information to customize contact by different audience segments;
Manage contributor recognition process, including thank you letters, delivery/mailing of plaques and other forms of recognition.

Donor Cultivation

Assist with development and implementation of strategies to increase workplace giving;
Research individual donor prospects;
Explore additional avenues for giving (bequests/planned giving, personal campaigns, etc.);
Assist with the coordination of various aspects of planning and logistics for fundraising events;
Oversee Richstone’s annual Adopt-A-Family program;
Supports Richstone’s client holiday events;
Outreach

Attends and participates in service fairs on behalf of the agency;
Speaks out in the community to groups interested in learning more about Richstone and its services;
Helps in cultivating and managing partnerships with local business and organizations;
Coordinate volunteers who work at fundraising events.
Administrative and Board Support

Provide general clerical support for the President/CEO and Development Director;
Communicates directly, and on behalf of the President/CEO, with Board members;
Adhere to compliance with applicable rules and regulations set in bylaws regarding board and board committee matters, including advance distribution of materials before meetings and board updates.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in related field or equivalent required;
2-3 years related experience or equivalent strongly preferred;
Nonprofit database experience and proficient in Microsoft Office suite;
Commitment to excellence and high standards;
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Public Speaking
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills;
Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects. Ability to manage priorities and workflow;
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm;
Attention to detail and accuracy in generating materials and reports;
Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees;
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization;
Must successfully pass Department of Justice background check;
Submit TB test or PPD Risk Assessment clearance;
Must have reliable transportation, valid driver license and current insurance.
Must maintain appropriate boundaries with clients, community partners, funders and other Richstone staff;
Perform other duties as required;
Act in accordance with Richstone’s mission and vision.
