The Supportive Services Advocate provides support services to domestic violence survivors, including intake assessments, safety planning, advocacy, and referrals.

Reports to: Intake & Advocacy Coordinator
Status: Full time, non-exempt


Conduct intake assessments and re-assessments.
Collaboratively create individualized service and safety plans.
Provide advocacy with social service and government agencies.
Make appropriate referrals and provide follow-up.
Facilitate weekly domestic violence survivor support groups.
Accurately document services and case information in a timely manner.
Provide court accompaniment, as needed.
Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and supervision meetings.
Conduct general presentations on the services offered by Rainbow Services to community partners.


Interest in addressing social justice issues affecting families and vulnerable groups, and a commitment to the movement to end intimate partner violence.
Bilingual, Spanish/English, English/ASL, or English/Amharic preferred.
BSW/BA preferred with 2 years related experience.
Priority given to those with case work experience in community-based settings and with crisis intervention, particularly supporting survivors of intimate partner/domestic violence.
Knowledge of DPSS, DCFS and other public systems desirable.
Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. required.
California ID or Driver’s License required.
Proof of current automobile insurance detailing coverage.
40-hour state mandated domestic violence training is required and can be provided upon hire.

Salary Description
$22.00 per hour
