We are looking for an energetic manager with a focus on development (donor cultivation and stewardship) and fundraising events. This is not a remote position and this person is required to work in our office.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Under the leadership of the Chief Executive Officer and VP of Development, the position is responsible for providing leadership and direction in raising funds through special events and lapsed donor cultivation. The Manager works closely with the Event Committees, the Chief Executive Officer, and the Development Team to plan and coordinate special events that meet program or fundraising goals and evaluates and reports results, with recommendations for modifying events to improve success. The Development and Events Manager is also responsible for generating fundraising income through cultivation and stewardship of current and lapsed donors including event supporters, corporations, civic groups and individual donors within the community. All job responsibilities are carried out within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization with a positive demeanor.

KEY ROLES: (Essential Job Responsibilities)

Strategic Planning

  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of the strategic plan regarding activities relating to donor solicitations and other club fundraising efforts.
  • Researches and analyzes agency, corporate, individual and foundation donor base and recommended solicitation strategies.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of special events, working with Club staff and volunteers to coordinate activities and facilitate communications.

Fund Development

  • Work with the Chief Executive Officer, Director of Organizational Development and Director of Grants and Marketing on the organization’s overall cultivation and stewardship plan.
  • Identify, cultivate and steward current and lapsed donors to increase current funding and support.
  • Follow and manage Moves Management plan within the organization’s CRM system, assisting with required reporting for Board of Directors.
  • Any other duties the supervisor might deem necessary in the best interests of the organization.
  • Lead the solicitation and obtaining of event sponsorships and gifts for all special events.
  • Manage the identification and stewardship of workplace and recurring giving.

Fundraising/Special Events:

  • Oversee all aspects of the planning and execution of the Clubs’ annual major events to achieve budgeted revenue.
  • Negotiate with vendors and sponsors to obtain space, refreshments/catering, audio-visual needs, event journals and all related materials and resources that ensure event success.
  • Identify and recruit corporate sponsors to underwrite event expenses or to donate gifts, cash or in-kind services to minimize expenses.
  • Work with event committees, CEO, and development team to coordinate event and increase revenue sources.
  • Track and report on all event financials, attendance, guest lists, and seating assignments.
  • Evaluate success of special events, as determined by appropriate measures such as attendance, revenues generated, public relations activity, enrollment in Club programs, etc.
  • Lead the stewardship of event donors to increase engagement.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in special events or activities as required.
  • Establish and maintain a friendly, cooperative relationship with other staff, public and private agencies, and other groups in the community.
  • Any other duties the supervisor might deem necessary in the best interests of the organization.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Demonstrated organizational, staff, and project management abilities.
  • Must communicate clearly, have excellent writing skills and knowledgeable in English.
  • Ability to demonstrate a professional manner in all interactions.
  • Know how to define and work toward goals.
  • Be able to facilitate a diverse group of youths or adults effectively.
  • Ability to organize time and focus on completing assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Valid state driver’s license and working vehicle to deliver/pick up items.
  • Proof of insurance on personal vehicle.
  • Must have knowledge of usage of e-mail and Microsoft Office products.
