Schedule: Beginning ASAP; 40 hours/week; weekly schedule determined in alignment with AGCC’s Executive Director/Staff

Reports To: Associate Director

Salary: $45,000-$52,000 + benefits package


Angels Gate Cultural Center (AGCC) sits atop a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the Port of Los Angeles. Our 50 artist studios, gallery space and arts classrooms are housed in repurposed WWII era barracks buildings, welcoming creatives of all mediums to walk the newest contemporary art exhibitions, hone an arts practice or learn something new. We are honored to steward native Tongva land in partnership with the local indigenous community. AGCC strives to provide opportunities for all people to participate in creative expression, discovery, and exploration through our exhibitions, community class and studio artist programs, as well as through various innovative arts and cultural events.

Position Summary

Angels Gate Cultural Center’s staff is a small and dedicated team that works collaboratively on most projects. We highly value the exchange of ideas and perspectives, and believe that when we combine our strengths to work together, we are at our best to serve the community.

AGCC is currently in search of a Marketing Coordinator, to work in partnership with the Associate Director, to help us grow our outreach efforts. If you have a passion for the arts, arts education and have a knack for rallying people to experience something new, you might be a good fit. With eight exhibitions on our 2023 gallery calendar, and approximately 45 events, workshops and creative opportunities scheduled for this year, the Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of AGCC’s marketing strategy and overarching brand, development of tools and materials. Projects include graphic design and writing copy for: print collateral (rack cards, posters, ads, business cards, etc.), website and social media (Facebook, IG, Twitter). The ideal candidate should be interested in being an integral part of drafting and implementing a unique and creative marketing strategy.

We are looking for new ideas, fresh perspective and innovative creativity to help us spread the word about our current and expanding arts and arts education programming.

• Passion for the Arts, desire to support a nonprofit arts organization in multi-faceted ways

• Demonstrate skills and expertise in print design, digital media, and social media, and content creation (both visual and written)

• Expert knowledge of Graphic Design programs (Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)

• Expertise across Social Media platforms (IG, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

• Minimum 3+ years Marketing experience (art marketing experience helpful but may not be required)

• Exceptional communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with various community members

• Ability to work independently, adept project manager, impeccable time management and prioritization skills

• Adaptability, flexibility, and desire to jump in and take initiative on projects

• Desire to become dedicated member of AGCC’s staff, including attending weekly team meetings, Professional Development opportunities, and completing all other staff responsibilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related discipline preferred

• Demonstrated experience in and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion: the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with various constituencies within AGCC’s diverse communities, internally and externally


Primary Responsibilities

• Design and deliver marketing content across all forms of media, including but not limited to: digital, social media, print, and emerging technologies

• Develop and monitor systems to support marketing activities, including: advertising and PR strategy, research, etc.

• Work with Executive and Associate Director and AGCC team on tools, policies, and procedures to continually improve AGCC’s marketing design and delivery

• Ensure that all AGCC branded creative and collateral content look and feel consistent across platforms

• Stay aware of best design practices and make recommendations to AGCC Leadership for adjustments and enhancements to design/outreach materials

• Establish and maintain a usable and well-communicated schedule for all Marketing initiatives

• Ensure all projects meet internal and external expectations with respect to quality, budget, delivery timelines, and strategy

• Communicate all marketing policies and/or issues at staff meetings

• Vision with the AGCC team on organization growth, etc.

• Serve at the request of the Executive Director, performing duties not listed here as needed
