POSITION: Counselor/Advocate – Transitional Shelter & Emergency Shelter
SALARY LEVEL: $14.00 per hour

REPORTS TO: Shelter Manager
STATUS/HOURS: Full time SPLIT SHIFT / Swing shift
HOURS: Monday-Friday 2:30pm-7:30pm at Transitional Shelter and 8:00pm–11pm at Emergency Shelter
**Please note employee will have split a shift between sites; mileage is reimbursed**
Su Casa ~ Ending Domestic Violence is a nonprofit community organization that aims to empower individuals and families to live free from domestic abuse and build partnerships with communities to end domestic violence. For over thirty-five years, Su Casa has been serving the Southeast Los Angeles County area through our 24-hour hotline, Emergency Shelter, Transitional Shelter, Walk-In Center, and Community Education and Awareness Program.
Su Casa has an opening for Counselor/Advocate for the Transitional and Emergency Shelter. Under the supervision of the Shelter Manager, the position is responsible for (1) assisting in implementation of all aspects of program from intake to exit; (2) providing crisis counseling and case management support to shelter residents; (3) ensuring the safety, security and cleanliness of the shelter facilities; and, (4) maintaining documentation in case files, (5) answering hotline calls
MINIMUM DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- One-year experience as a counselor/advocate and/or working with survivors of domestic violence.
- Certification in the 40-hour domestic violence training required by CA.
- Bilingual REQUIRED: English/Spanish.
